Chorale for Guitar Quartet

Chorale for Guitar Quartet

Chorale for Guitar Quartet

Inspired by Renaissance and baroque choral music, Chorale was commissioned in 2012 by the New York City Classical Guitar Society for the New York City Guitar Orchestra. This version is based on the original score by Local 802 (New York City) member Frederic Hand. “Although I’ve integrated some of my favorite jazz harmonies and rhythms into the fabric of the music, I feel that at it’s core, it very much has an early music sensibility,” says Hand.

Heinrich Baermann

Heinrich Baermann: Lesser Known Works for the Clarinet

Heinrich Baermann

Early 19th century clarinet virtuoso and composer Heinrich Baermann traveled extensively throughout his career. This collection contains three clarinet works by Baermann that have largely been forgotten. “It is the hope of this editor that by studying and performing these works, clarinetists will gain a better understanding of one of our most important predecessors,” says Madelyn Moore. Moore researched unpublished works of Baermann at libraries in Germany and Italy before writing this book.
